Certified Public Accountant, State of California
Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Accounting – Cal Poly, Pomona

Professional Experience:

I have 30 years of varied professional accounting, finance and managerial experience, including the last 12 years in municipal finance. I started my career as an auditor for a regional public accounting firm where I earned my CPA certificate. I have also worked in industry and in not-for-profits, and I currently serve as the Finance Manager for the Chino Valley Fire District, located in Chino Hills.

CSMFO Involvement:

I have been active in CSMFO for over 10 years, serving in 2016 as Chair of the Membership Committee, Chair of the Inland Empire Chapter, as a member of the Communications Task Force, and also as a budget award program reviewer. Previously, I served in various capacities on the Administration Committee, including Chair, and I have also worked on the Host and Nominating Committees.

I regularly attend our fantastic annual conferences, and am fortunate to take advantage of the outstanding CSMFO webinars and other CSMFO sponsored training when possible. I have served as both a speaker and a moderator at annual conferences and also as a webinar presenter. I actively participate in monthly CSMFO Board meetings in my leadership roles with the Membership Committee and the Inland Empire Chapter, so I am well versed in the role and responsibilities of CSMFO board members. As an active CSMFO volunteer, I regularly communicate with our Executive Director, our current elected Board of Directors, other committee and chapter leaders and other members of our organization.

Having volunteered in a wide variety of capacities within CSMFO, I have a demonstrated track record with this organization and feel that I am well qualified to assume a position on the CSMFO Board.

Candidate Statement:

Fellow CSMFO members, we must be highly judicious in deciding which professional organizations to join, where to seek continuing education and professional development, and when and how we network with our peers. CSMFO is at the very top of my list of highly valued professional memberships.

Having volunteered in a number of different roles with CSMFO over the past decade, I believe I have a well-rounded perspective on CSMFO’s mission and the needs of our members. In my work with the Membership Committee, our emphasis has been on adding value for you, our members. As Chair of the Inland Empire Chapter, I regularly engage with members at a grass roots level. If elected to your Board of Directors, I intend to maintain a member focused approach in service to municipal finance officers in California.

I strongly believe in CSMFO and it is my pleasure to serve the membership. Fellow CSMFO members, respectfully, I thank you in advance for your consideration of my candidacy for a southern Board member position.
