Since taking over as President at the annual conference in Sacramento this past February, I have been on the road a lot representing our organization. In the last issue of the magazine, I filled our membership in on my travels to Oregon for the OGFOA Spring Conference. Since then, I have been to Newport Beach, Denver, and back to Sacramento.
In early March, about a month after the CSMFO conference in Sacramento, I had the great pleasure of attending the Oregon Government Finance Officers Association (OGFOA) 2017 Spring Conference. OGFOA has two conferences each year, one in the spring and one in the fall, with the spring conference usually at a “destination” location. This spring’s conference was held on the coast at the Salishan Resort and Spa.
"Wow! What a conference! I hope that for those of you able to attend that you had as great an experience as I did. Watching the conference unfold from my perspective was tremendously gratifying, as it represented 11 months of dedicated work from a small army of amazing people. The Host and Program Committees, along with the phenomenal folks at Smith Moore and Associates and Meeting & Association Management Services, did a fantastic job executing on this incredible event."
